The uncovered wooden bridges of New Brunswick

        These bridges were built using  the same type of construction as our Covered Bridges
       but were built using creosote timber and therefore did not have to be covered.


Little River #1 built in 1958 
Middle River #1 Built in 1956
     These two bridges are in the Bathurst city limits and
        are scheduled to be replaced in the near future.


 


  Millstream #5  Built in 1951 
  This bridge is located near 
    Berwick on Rt 880.
   Thorns Brook  Built in 1945  This bridge is located off the 
   TCH Route 2 in River Glade

 
 
                       Coverdale #4  Built in 1937
               This wooden bridge is located on the Nixon Road
                    near Colpits Settlement off Route 895

 


 


 Shediac River #3 Built in 1960
This bridge is located near Shediac Bridge just off the Shediac Bridge Road and
crosses the Shediac River just above the Shediac River #4 bridge

 

 
 Cocagne River #1  Built in 1941
This bridge is located in the village of Cocagne on Route 134
and is at the mouth of the Cocagne River.
This bridge is a two lane bridge.
Note the Arched Burr construction.

 

 
Little Buctouche River #1  Built in 1940
This bridges is at the mouth of the Little Bouchtouche River on Route 134
north of Cacagne. It also is a two lane bridge and uses Arched Burr trusses.

 

 
 Coverdale River #9 Built in 1939
This bridge is locate close to the
Village of Parkingdale in
Albert County
      Pollett River #4 Built in 1957
    This bridge is locate of Rt 905 close to the Village of Elgin
in Albert County
   Pollett River #6 Built in 1962
  This bridge is located off Rt 905 and is close to the Village of Elgin 
in Albert County

 
 Buchtouche River #5 Built in 1958.
This bridge is located on Route 515 west of the Village of Buctouche
in Kent County
Gaspreau River #1 Built in 1960
This bridge is located on Route 505 east of the Village of Rexton
in Kent County
    Kouchibouguacis River #1 Built in 1943 This bridge is located on Route 134 in the Village of St-Louis-de-Kent in Kent County

 
Tabusintac River #2  Built in 1958
This bridge is located on Route 460
at Price Settlement west of the of
the Village of Naguac in 
Northumberland County
  Smith Creek #5  Year Built unknown This bridge is located off 
  Route 890 near Smith Creek in
  Kings County 
Nackawic River #3 Year Built 1955
This bridge is located off Route 605
West of Fredericton near Millville
which is on Route 104.

 
Penniac Stream #1 Year Built 1955
This bridge is located near Fredericton off Route 8 just south of Route 628
